Welcome to our forum at OntarioDeer.CA! Summer is here. The weather has been nice and warm and the fishing very good at times. Early morning trips can yield big results like Nathan's 9 walleye and everything else catch in one morning on Nosbonsing at the end of July. A big pike snapped his line at the boat... Some nice Bass were landed and lost. My best bass hit a Mass Marauder while Musky fishing, 2 seconds after a 40 yard cast. Someone forgot the net and as Nathan went to lip it it shook free. It was bigger than my 6 pound smallmouth landed earlier in the month. So now it is August and preparation for Bear Season will start picking up. I will be practicing with my bow shooting LOTS of arrows. Baiting stand or blind locations with goodies closer to the opener... Will be collecting some mollases, vanillia extract, donuts... With a new stand location from last year I need to work on a dug out log covered cache pit. I could probably also brush in the top of my stand a bit. Going scent free prior to the season starting with eliminating scents in the house, then scents on the body and clothing. A short hair cut, scent free deodorant, no colognes, and lots of showers can't hurt your chances at arrowing a trophy Big Game animal. So I hope you are hard at work as well enjoying the Best that our Ontario wilderness has to offer.
