Cool End of Callander Bay / Lake Nipissing ice very soon!!!

On the way home from picking Jenn up from work we took the scenic route and took a few pictures as the ice is starting to melt. It is april 3, it should be all gone by my birthday on the 14th I predict.
We also saw a deer that ran onto the ice but couldn't get a clear shot from behind trees and houses when we saw. I had the camera in the car because yesterday I drove past a Moose on Lake Nosbonsing road early in the morning.

Also caught this deer among others this morning in the yard. I'm glad they made it through a rough winter.

I was going to ask you when the ice would be out. The climate has indeed warmed up. Years ago we drove up on May 8 to New Liskeard to see friends and Lake Nipissing was frozen solid and it was dead of winter in New Liskeard.

Golden Lake is still frozen. But most of our snow is gone. The deer wrecked my bird feeder in the back yard last night.

Well it is the 21st of April and there is still ice on Lake Nipissing. I hope we get more rain (no more snow though) to bring the lake levels up. Was out scoopiung smelts this week off of Trout Lake. We caught about 90 between 4 guys.
    Happy b-day S.S. mine was the 13th.
The only thing better then fishing is catching.

Happy birthday to you as well! Thanks for the birthday wish, how old are you, I turned 28... The ice is half gone on Nosbonsing. So where is a good spot for smelting on Trout Lake or anywhere else near me? Reaper and Conger have been smelting down their way and I'd love to go but I have lots of responsibilties around here. If I do make it down their way soon, it will be for steelhead. I can't wait to see what Reaper catches on the flies I sent him.
