Hey I have never used them Conger but I am looking forward to hearing how you do on them... I've used downriggers but would be interested in dispy divers to fish the deeper holes in Lake Nosbonsing when the fish go deep in the summer time.

yes I am looking forward to trying it out as well, getting ready for the opener, Pike and Walleye opens May 1st on G-bay(zone 14), so I am going to hit it up opening day, cuz I have to wait till May 24 for pike and walleye to open inland(zone15)

been useing them alittle this summer, but I keep lossing them, but since they are only $15 I am not too upset about that, I like them better then downriggers, my Bro-in-law got a 8 pound laker earlyer this year.

Why are you losing your dipsey divers? If your line is snapping or abrasion from rocks, I suggest 20# braid for the mainline to the dipsey diver, and then a nice and long clear-polymer leader off the back of the dipsey and tied to a snap-swivel and then a spoon or crankbait. I am still poor. Losing $15 still bothers me.

I run 15 pound superline on my trooling rod, and I run my diver like 4 feet off bottom, I think I can snaggin up on stuff on bottom, trees adn such, But the last one I lost and the first one as well where I came up over a reef and snaged up teh 2nd one was a Sunken tree I believe, it sucks but to me its part of fishing, but Ya I am startign to think about maybe not running so close to bottom.
