    2011 vegetable garden

Well I didn't get out fishing today because I had too much going on during the day including planting the garden. I think it was the perfect day so tomorrow I will go fishing. Should be a better day for fishing anyways with light rain in the forecast.

This years garden should be good. I planted 2 types of corn, tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, peanuts, cucumber, pickling cucumber, carrots, beets, potatoes, broccolli, cauliflower, celery, dill, snow peas, and green beans!

If you look carefully at the back you can see I recycled two coil frame from inside an old matress stood up and nailed to a 2x4 for support so that the Snow Peas and Green Beans to have something to climb upwards.

My garden is ok this year. Potatoes, Corn, Tomatoes, Carrots, and Dill Cucumbers have done well! However my leaf lettuce, romaine lettuce, beets, and cauliflower got eaten and destroyed by a rabbit and a ground hog.

    2011 Garden

I cut back on my gardening this year. Tomatoes are doing well, lots of squash. For some reason the bush beans didn't germinate very well and my bush bean garden is real spotty. Our climbing beans were doing real good but then our pet geese got into them yesterday and destroyed half the plants. Our flowers put on a good show though.

    That's "Whitey" our guard gander.
