    How to catch minnows?

My minnow trap is soaking overnight after only catching 4 minnows in half and hour... Sometimes I get 50 in 15 minutes othertimes it has to soak overnight. I have a little video too for those of you who have never trapped your own minnows. It will save you a lot of money if you fish a lot. I still buy some minnows like the jumbo shiners and smelts since I can't catch them around here, but for general use these creek minnows do excellent. So I'll check in in the morning to see how my minnow trap and slice of bread made out.

Minnow Price = 1 slice of bread and half an hour.

I plan on getting out fishing in the Morning! It has been awhile, I deserve to. Plus Jenn offered to clean the house on her day off, so I'll let her after double checking she really wanted to.

k marc, put your trap out where theres NO current, or a backwater pond is better, and try adding some White or Blue stiroform in the trap it helps alot

And buy like 3 more traps
Kids that Hunt, Fish or Trap don't rob little Old Ladys.

Thanks for the tips Marty. Will definitely add styrofoam and more traps... I have a big minnow tank now to hold them. Also I think I know a backwater spot.

I'll update with new results after I set my trap and let it sit.

I have experimented with painting my traps over the last couple of years. If you spray piant the trap black or dark green (any dark colour) you will do much better. I have put painted and stock traps beside each other and the dark ones catch allot more minnows.
The only thing better then fishing is catching.
